The writers grouped around the Hungarian journal “Nyugat” and the international language.

The Hungarian journal Nyugat (1908–1941) that was published in Budapest, set the trends for the development of the Hungarian literature of the 20th century. The writers grouped around it, whose work has been read willingly until the present day, initiated modern Hungarian literature. However, what is  less well-known is that the artistist, being adherent of the international language, contributed to a relatively good position of Esperanto in the Hungarian intellectual and social life. Moreover, they saw the matter of this language even better than the esperantists of the time or the later historians of literature.
