PREPARING THE TEXT FOR PUBLISHING

The Editing Team of the biannual academic journal "Porównania" would like to ask the authors to include in their submission an abstract of up to 100 words including key words (no more than 6) in Polish and English and a biographical note about the author (up to 80 words).

The file should be saved as .doc.

The paper should be written using Times New Roman font size 12 with a line spacing of 1.5.

Section headings should be used.

A quotation that is longer than three lines should be written with font size 10. Use a regular quotation mark for quotations within quotations.

When referring to a person (protagonist) for the first time, write their full name and surname (e.g. Adam Mickiewicz).

In order to indicate parts of a quotation that have been ommitted, please use square brackets: [...].

Sources given in Cyrillic should be transliterated.

CITATION

The Editing Team of the biannual journal "Porównania" kindly asks the authors to prepare the references in accordance with the Modern Language Association style (MLA Style). It is based on a two-element citation system: an in-text citation and an alphabetic list of references at the end of the paper. Footnotes should only be used for additional information that supplements the main text.

  1. In-text citations:

An in-text citation includes the author's surname and a page number in brackets:

(Kowalski 23)

If there is more than one source by the same author, the date of publication should be included followed by a colon and the page number:

(Kowalski 1990: 23)

(Kowalski 1994: 124)

If the cited source has two or three authors, their surnames should be separated with a comma:

(Kowalski, Malinowski 23)

If the cited source has more than three authors, then it should be written in the following way:

(Kowalski et al. 23)

In case of sources with no authors (e.g. webpages), the following information should be given in the text:

(Document title, internet source)

In case of citing information that has been cited within another document, the original source document should be given:

(after: Malinowski 23-32)

  1. References:

The list of references should be compiled on a separate page at the end of the paper. The list should be organised alphabetically by the surname of the author or, in case of no authors, by the title. The title should be written in italics. Latin expressions such as idem, eadem or its Polish equivalents should not be used.

In-text citations or references that require the Cyrillic alphabet should be written by means of transliteration. With foreign references, please use the following:
